Model 1895 Lee Rifle

The April 2007 issue of Shooting Times has an interesting article about the Model 1895 Lee rifle used by the U.S. Navy. Many years ago, I had a chance to handle one of these rifles that was in a private collection. Never shot one, but would like to add one to the collection. It is a good read. All the best...

6mm Lee

I had a LEE Navy 6mm about 20 years ago. Really wish I'd have kept it. Thay have gone up in value to such a degree I'll never be able to get another one.
Shot it quite a bit. Made brass from 220 Swift. I have a soft spot for straight pull rifles.

Gil, I was there, too!

Gil,

Circa 1961, we were in Philadelphia and got taken to the home of a gun collector. We handled that 6mm Lee Rifle, a Russian M1895 Nagant revolver and what was perhaps a "Live" M-2 Carbine among many other arms.

Now, 46 years later, I wonder what ever became of the historically significant arms we handled way back then. There were many fine gun collections and gun shops in that area we grew up in. Now it is the land of the well-to-do anti-gun and anti-hunting gentry, eh, wot?
