Tennessee governor clueless
Big front page story in Sunday's Nashville Tennessean about the Tennessee governor's "fact-finding" trip to check on the welfare of National Guardsmen on the Mexican border. The governor's quote below, cut and pasted from the article, would be laughable were it not for the fact that the policy he is endorsing could very easily get one of the troops killed.
“The fact they have suitable weapons, they are loaded, not a shell in the chamber but ready to go, I think they are safe...."  Link to full text of story http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs....D=200770303021 |
This is the same governor that is fighting the English First movement also. He said he thinks it is un-American. He has been using The Tennessean to spread his “facts” for years.

True enough what you say, but remember, he is also the governor that is trying to pay for any child with a 19 on the ACT to attend community college.

Andy Jackson is probably spinning in his grave :(

In a Senate vote tonight, Tennesseans right to keep arms in an emergency state or disaster passed 32-0. The 2nd Amendent is alive and well in our State. The Governor had wanted to maintain a law which gave him the power to confiscate all guns during times of emergency or disaster. After Katrina all States should heed that lesson. grayghost
