300 SWM sweet!
I shot a friends brand new, I could't believe what a nice trigger, and 3 different shooters shot a little over 1" group first time shooting the gun! I believe he said it was a Tiki or Tika? Not quiet sure but it was definately a sweet shooter, especially for under $500! I even shot 600yds holding a little over 2' high, just caught the bottom of the target dead center 6 oclock, well I was impressed? Not a bad investment!

The 300 WSM is easily as accurate as the 300 WM and may edge it a trifle. It has a somewhat bad rep for recoil because of ignorance. Folks just can not get it into their head that it is a 300 WM in a short case. They want to get 3 pound rifles built for the cute little cartridge. Then the air weight gun with the buggy whip barrel turns into a fire breathing, thunder stomper and they blame the gun. :D

That's for sure, you definately have to hold on to it or you'll end up with a weaver eyebrow!

I've got to shoot my son's Savage in 300 WSM, and I must say I really like. We worked up some loads for it and took it out last week. He dropped a nice bear with it at 290 yards in north Idaho.
What a sweet shooter, at least this Savage is. If I ever needed a 300, I wouldn't hesitate to get the Savage. |
