Harpers Ferry 1816 Musket
 

Today, I picked up an unfired reproduction 1816 Harpers Ferry .69 caliber musket that looks exactly like a Charleville. It had been sitting in a gun shop for years. A reproduction Charleville lists for over $1,400.00 today. I got the Harpers Ferry for about half that price with the box, video, bayonet and manual. Take care...

Exactly a year ago I cleaned up an ORIGINAL Harpers Ferry Arsenal arm as you described. I cleaned it front to back. I advised the owner not to fire it.

No question that originals are unique and very, very expensive. If I had an original, I would not shoot it. Take care...

You suck! lol...seriously, great find. went to the local gun show last weekend in Richmond, great civil war and pre civil war guns on display there...and the pistol sets were amazin. They were also to much fer my blood, but I think all of the drool I spilled on em lowered the value quite a bit lol :rolleyes:

I have always been fond of the .69 caliber Charleville. The 1816 muskets were made at Springfield Armory and Harpers Ferry from 1816 to 1844. In fact, quite a few were used in the Civil War. Good catch. All the best...
