British Enfields

I vist several gun shops on a regular basis while looking for surplus arms. One shop has quite a few British WWI and WWII Enfields for around $200.00. I was in another shop today and saw a Mark III and a No. 4 Mark I priced at $449.00 and $499.00 respectively. Sure glad I shop around because I would not even consider those prices as reasonable. Take care...

The prices are start to rise on those guns.. I am glad I got mine 20+ yrs ago for $75.

Sounds like a lot of money for Enfields. I am used to seeing the lower price you mentioned. All the best...

Joe,

Our BIG gun show is March 8-9 at Morris, PA. If you want to see sticker shock, go to Morris. Last year I saw several "NRA Poor-Good" P-17 Eddystones for $750 and up.

Guns that we bought in the 1960s were in the $12.00-35.00 range and those days are long gone. Treasure the iron you got in the good old days.

It depends

There are places that still sell military surplus arms at reasonable prices. For example, mint condition U.S. 1917 Enfields or 1903 Springfieds are about $500.00. Of course, some places charge a lot more, but I do not shop in those establishments. All the best...

I just bought a '17 Remington. The wood is ugly as a mud fence but the metal is excellent and the bore shines like a spanked babys butt. #'s matched also. I paid, swallow hard Bill, $200.

I figure I stole it. Milsurps in this part of the world are almost non-existent.

Right now mother nature is suffering from PMS and I haven't had it out to shoot it yet. Example: 4 days ago it was -28° then it snowed 6" and yesterday it was 52°.

I want to see how fast I can volley fire it. It is supposed one of the best bolt rifles for that excersize. We shall see.

Best wishes, Bill

Enfield in .308

I bought several for $90.00 a few years ago and the local gun shop has them for less than $200.00. All the best...

skeet,

I agree the Ishapore MkIII clone rifle .308 is ugly, but mine shoot better than most military arms on establishment. I like the Jungle Carbine Ishapore clone because it shoots well and is a fine woods rifle in .308.
