Muzzle Loader Kits

Please see my question in "Build it Yourself" about ML kits. Essentially I'm asking which Hawken kit would be best for a first timer.

Mtn Mike2,

I have built several ML kits and all went fine as long as I followed the instructions.

The Hawken is a fine arm. What caliber are you planning to build? Work at a pace and do not be in a hurry and you will do fine.

Welcome to this site.

Adam

Thanks Adam. Thinking of .54 or .58 cal, percussion. If it has a patch box I'd like it to be steel or something other than brass. I've been shooting and hunting with a T/C Encore inline w/ iron sights (no scopes in Colorado) but I think I'm ready for some real old timey shootin'. I'm thinking patch and ball and real BP.

Mike
