Looking around for surplus arms

I visit a few gun shops and have noticed a few trends regarding the surplus arms they have for sale. The arms are either pristine and expensive or beat up and expensive. Some of the shops will haggle a bit on price and that makes things better. The prices just keep marching off the chart. All the best...

Gil,

Do you think we need a Gummint Bailout here, too? LOL.

When it rains, it pours

A neighbor asked me to examine, then identify and appraise a stash of military and hunting arms for his friend. Seems the friend inherited a pile of surplus arms when his 90 year old father-in-law went into a nursing home. The old gentlemen was a gunsmith and he acquired some really nice guns. I spent hours last Saturday handling classic arms. The crown jewels were: a 1903-A3 Remington, Czech VZ-24, Siamese Mauser, Japanese Type 99s, Banner Mauser, Kar98k from 1937. There were also pre-64 Model 70s, Remington 721, 722, Savage 99s (one is a .358 Win.) and several classic pinned and recessed Smith & Wessons.

My attention was focused on the military arms and all are for sale. I expect to get quite of few of these fine guns. More later. All the best...

Let me know if you are going to be in the area. I would be glad to give you a few recommendations of where I shop. All the best...
