Casting?

We just moved last year and I finally need to make some more bullets,BUT I can't find my ladle, can you pour with anything else like a spoon.Any suggestions?

Never mind,I just broke down and ordered one.I'll just have to wait.

Deerman,

Yes, I suppose you could use a spoon, but a ladel is safer and holds more lead.

Unless you were to find a way to put a wooden handle on it, I would imagine it would get quite hot to handle, even with gloves on.

Back to the saga of the ladel. You can make a ladel out of a stainless steel two tablespoon coffe dipper.Just add a wooden handle and it works great. Then get all set up for casting, open your camp stove and FIND your old ladel!!!This was my first time casting since we moved,I remember I put it where I'd never forget where it was.The coffee dipper did work.

Deerman,

We all like a story with a happy ending. Another point: I am done moving! I finally have all my stuff in one location and I know where everything is located.

Be safe casting.

In turth tho if you pour the larger conicals the dipper really worked a lot better.Of coarse why wife just had to give me that "wife "look!SHE would have looked there first!
