Reading Air Show and WWII Encampment

Just returned from the WWII weekend at a local airport and was impressed with the re-enactors and their weapons. I saw a German FG-42, MG-34s and MG42s along with a few MP40s and MP44s. There were various Russian machine guns and British Brens along with the various standard military rifles. The event was well attended and very informative. All the best...

Best show I ever attended was a Jul 4th in 76... then, CAF did one I'll never forget! Didn't have the ground weapons... but I got to meet and chat with
Gen 'Chappy' James! Watching was great...joined CAF on the spot. This was in Col Springs.
These old reenactments are super!

We have a machine gun shoot each year at a local range and yes the MG42 is im-pressive. I cannot imagine trying to take Omaha Beach against that kind of fire-power.

I was there yesterday and it appeared that this one was the biggest so far with the amount of reennactors and sutlers attending.
We got thru the admission gate before 8am and there were few spectators.
Because Friday was a rain-out, Saturday was a log-jam with traffic on Rt222 and Rt 183 backed up for miles.
This event is worth seeing every year and fortunately its close to home.
If anyone is interested, here is the link to the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum who hosts the event and their World War Two Weekend webpage: http://www.maam.org/maamwwii.html
