I am going to speed up the Mauser project, get it finished a few months early. And try to convince myself to get a new scope too. I mean really twist my arm!

How 'bout you?

If I have a return and don't have to pay it will go to pay off bills, or go into an IRA.

First of all I don't expect one, just hope between state and federal I don't have to pay in. Good luck to those that get refunds.

toxic111 01-25-2010 12:36 PM

I am expecting a fairly good one.. based on what I got back last year... It will hopefully go towards a new quad...

skeet 01-25-2010 02:45 PM

A refund???

From the Gummit?? Me?? Very doubtful! Last time I got a refund it was a whole 20 bucks or so.

Worry less about the bank people and more about paying for Al Gore's jet fuel. If they get their agenda with this cap and trade stuff..he's gonna get most of your money All this bull hockey Nobama is doing with blaming the banks is just to get the American people's minds off of his FAILED policies. Smoke and mirrors just like the Republicans..but the smoke is waayyy thicker than the Repubs could ever make it. The debt these Marxists are making is just unbelievable..Probably double what the Bush Administration did in 8 yrs...and they have done it all in one year. Sheesh:rolleyes:

If we get one this year, we'll likely put our Federal refund towards tuition for the kids. All three go to parochial school. We never get anything back from the state, in fact we usually have to pay Ohio, and a few bucks to our city.

skeet 01-26-2010 05:44 PM

Huh??

What are BILLS?? I know a couple of Bills. They are both on welfare..so I guess I am paying for some Bills too.

Sorry my friend..I just couldn't stand it. I never have much left after the bills are paid either.

skeeter@ccia.com 01-28-2010 01:25 AM

I just use it to pay other taxes.

Well, we have few bills and try like hell to keep it that way. Must be true as Citibank just cut my credit card limit in half. Why? because I'm not using it enough. What a line of crap!
If we get a refund, usually the wife and I just split it and use it for whatever we want. Kind of our play money and my share is usually enough that I can build up another rifle or buy a new one. Dunno about this year though.
Due to there being no COLA on SS or my pension, and my health insurance jumped up another $60 a month, guess I'm eating a $60 cut in pay.:( Thank you Obama the Userper, you lousy sack (expletives deleted):mad::mad::mad:
I've been thinking of selling off the safe queens but doggone it, that's like selling off my children. :(

Don't feel bad, Chase just cut my limits in half on three different cards that I have with them. Funny how they do that at a time when people are actually more likely to do it because they NEED to do it. Ultimately, I do not blame them too much, but I went to AMEX and away from them because they also changed one of their bonus programs that screwed me out of $100 in cash rewards by 4 days and there was nothing they could do to compensate me for it but this new rewards program is a better program. Really? Really!!

When I applied for another AMEX card, AMEX only gave me a $3,000 limit on it because the other one I had from them had a $12,000 limit. They sent me letter asking me to give them a call if I wanted to redistribute my credit limits between the two cards, so I did. Ultimately, the rewards programs are much better than what Chase was giving us.

Finished up our returns earlier this week and will be e-filing them tomorrow. Refund is just under $14,000.

$10,000 will be going to IRA's or a SEP retirement account, and $4,000, with another $6,000 from us will be going to 529 plans for the kids.

Nothing shiny and fancy coming from this refund. The same thing pretty much happened last year.

Before the refund police get on me about loaning my money to the government tax free, I'll just say I like it that way. Plus, the government needs all the help it can get now. If interest rates rise substantially, I might re-think this policy of mine, but not until they are above 5%.
