lawnmower outboard motors I have seen a few videos on youtube of these motors. I have a 1958 elgin that is just right for this kind of makeover. Has anybody ever done this or know of someone who has. I don't think that it would be too hard, but my thing is coming up with a kill switch. I will say this though, I would strongly suggest using matching couplers on the shafts. I think this would be a better setup and probably have a lot less vibration. Any thoughts folks. |

It's very doable. I have never tried it, but bear in mind that lawnmower motors and engines are used for ALOT more than just mowers anyway. There was a time when a briggs and stratton motor was the start of just about every custom built application from water pumps to generators and back again. GoodOlBoy |
