is it worth it?
I have the option of a $150 on a Mosin Nagant (owner says it is good condition) in 7mm. I haven't seen it yet, but curious if it is a good price or not.

I don't know much about military surplus rifles, but I don't think that they made Mosins in 7mm.......I'm thinking either A.) it's not really a Mosin B.) It is a mosin, and it's a really RARE mosin, or C.) it is a conversion that may be of questionable strength.
Hopefully Adam Helmer or Gil Martin or one of the others can shed some more light on this one....... |
It depends
Something does not sound right about this rifle and the caliber. I agree with Mr. 16 gauge and would examine the rifle very carefully to determine what it really is. I can tell you that it did not leave the factory as a 7mm. So it depends. All the best...

Mosin Nagant was chambered 7.62 x 54 Rimmed. That may be why they are calling it 7mm. Most of them that I have seen are good shooters, although I don't much care for the style. jplonghunter |
GOB,
I have never seen a Mosin-Nagant in 7mm. There are MANY models of MN arms from 1891, 91/30, 38 and 44. A good is not necessarily GOOD. Buyer beware. Keep us posted. Adam |
Ok talked to the owner again and he is using 7.62x54r (thankfully) in the gun. I will try to get with him next week about getting it into my grubby grubby hands.
