Well, it's finally done....
....and it FLOATS!!!! Even with my fat arse in it!:)
Actually I finished it a few weeks back and took it on a small pond near my home. I used the trolling motor back then, and it moved it well, but I have since bought a small, 1.5 hp outboard to push it around. Plan on using it on small lakes, ponds, and the marsh. It's built from the dense foam insulation panels (4x8'), wood, and fiberglass. Prior to glassing: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b6.../duckboat2.jpg adding the fiberglass: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b6...deduckboat.jpg The finished product: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b6...uckboat001.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b6...uckboat002.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b6...uckboat003.jpg If anyone is interested, they can find more info here: www.diyduckboat.com ..I'm also cross posting this in the waterfowling section.;) |
