New Drop Point
 

I bought this Elk Ridge (import) for less than $25.00 but its a solid keeper! Only took a few laps on the stone to achieve scary razor edge!

Three Knives I have
 

If I can get it posted I have a pic of 3 knives. One is just a drop point one is a bird knife abd the third is a bit larger bird type. Not quite what I had in mind when I got the fellow to make it..but still kinda nice looking. Want to get him to make me one with a different handle material. The fellow that makes the sheaths is a real artisan in leather when he wants to be..He is making me a holster in leather for a Kimber 45 auto. LIB I got'r done.. Top is the larger Bird..middle is the small one and the bottom is the drop point. It is a very easy to sharpen knife. I have 3 of them to go to the Grandkids in Md

Well the drop point is a very basic knife..especially for a custom made one But i bought it just because it was basic. The blade is substantial and heavy enough for real work. The others are a bit lighter and not suited for elk etc. I have another custom made knife that is a nice skinner and it is in a custom made sheath that actually has a patent. Will try to post a pic of it. It really doesn't look used but I have used it on at least 25 deer over the years. It was made by a fellow in Md(in the late 80s??) that worked full time for Delta Airlines(I think) and it was the first one he ever put his name on according to him.. I had another he made but gave it to a good friend. The last of the kinda custom knives I have are my father in laws Sikes/Fairbairn issued to him in 1940 or so when he was assigned to the Brit commandos and a Randall made that I had in Viet Nam. I think both are worth a fair amount and reside in a safety deposit box with my old Original Colt revolvers..A Navy Colt and 1860 Army and a 31 cal Baby Dragoon Will try to post a pic of the skinner as it is right in front of me. As you can see I really don't go in for big knives. The sheath for this knife was covered with tanned deerskin from one I shot back in the late 80's. First one i ever tanned and it came out pretty good. The fellow that made the sheath used half of that deer hide for sheaths. I even have one he made for a Buck Folding Hunter..somewhere around here...or maybe my daughter has it
