Sterling 9mm Rifle
 

I came into some mileage reimbursement money and headed for a local gun shop. After wasting some time, I selected and excellent used Savage Model 110 in .270 Winchester with a Bushnell Banner 3-9X scope. The rifle was cheap and I bought it. As I was leaving, a clerk showed me a Century Arms Sterling 9mm that was on sale. What to do? I managed to scape enough money together to put it on layaway. Good thing that I am on the road tomorrow to rack up some more mileage reimbursement money. I hate it when that happens. Take care...

That Sterling is semi-auto, right? I have a few 9mm pistols and like them. What will be the use of this "Sterling Rifle?"

Good for you. I hope ya have fun with that 9mm. I had someone try to sell me an original one of those 9s... It sure made a lot of noise out of a fair amount of money. If the price was good on that Savage..I have found them to be pretty accurate rifles. Not often pretty..but good serviceable rifles... I bought a Ruger 77RS today with an older Redfield Low profile 2x7 on it..It was also in the great 270 caliber. Bet I paid more than you..and it really isn't a much better rifle either..But it is going to my grandson or granddaughter..whichever one jumps on it first...amd young'uns like pretty. Granddaughter has been killin the local fox population round the farm back east

Looks like you prefer not to own a 9mm rifle. So be it because it is a personal decision. Last time I checked I did not need anyone's permission because it is my choice and my money. It is no different than any semi-auto rifle that you own. Take cate...

Joe I don't think Adam was disagreeing with your purchase..Think he was just asking.. When they came out with that darn thing back when.. I really wanted one.. But at the time just KNEW I couldn't afford the amount of ammo I would put through something like that..young kids..mortgage...FOOD etc etc LOL. If you have a place where you can shoot long range without being bothered by the naysayers..try seeing how accurate it is..you may be surprised. I had one of those 45 auto carbines you put a 45 frame on one time and it was accurate..and fun.

Yessir, you read my inquiry correctly. It seems Joe has a "Wild Hair" of sorts, so be it. I was not offering him permission to purchase, merely asking what he planned to do with the gun.

Yes, I own many semi-auto rifles and shoot them here on the farm. I began in 1965 with my $17.50 + $2.50 shipping of a DCM M1 Carbine, along came some Garands, FN ABL-49s, SKSs and a Tokarev or two. I also had three Match M-14s in my high power rifle team days. I reckon I did not get an answer from Joe about what he was going to do with his 9mm Sterling. Thanks for reading me correctly.
