Adam's computer is down.
 

I just wanted to let ya know, Adam Helmer's computers hard drive gave up the ghost. I just talked to him yesterday and He said he will hopefully have it repaired next week.:)

I hate it when that happens

When your HD dies, a mechanical failure, it is very tough because you loose everything unless you have a backup system and can load all of your old programs on a new machine or new HD on the old machine.

I had my HD disintegrate inside (a Cheetah 15K spin job) last year about this time. I got about 80% put back on, but that 20% is tough not to have, I keep needing this or that from the missing.

Best of luck to Adam. Oh, I now have a small portable 120G backup, I just plug in.

On October 18, 2012 my hard drive quit exactly one month after the warranty died! I chatted with the Toshiba folks and got a new computer at 1600 today for free.

It is good to be back.
