Winchester Model 100

I know they have to be constatnly cleaned to keep them from sticking. But

What is the best lube to put on the power piston (I guess that would be what you call it) to make it easier to clean and keep it from sticking?

Never Hurd that about the 100 I no a couple guys that have them and love them I have the model 88 Its a early model that I had to replace the stock because it was chopped down and cracked real bad.

Multi. I too have had a "few" of these in every cal and have never had any probs with cleaning. If you are talking the gas piston..Clean it well and put NO lube on it. If anything some very fine powdered graphite. No oil at all. If you use powdered graphite on any thing get one of the little lock puffers for use in door locks etc. Work really well.

Thanks Skeet.

That is what I thought but was not sure. Love the guns as I have a 308 and a 284 just hate the gas piston giving me sticking problems.

Multibeard.. Clean it all up and then if ya have some either grit cloth or crocus in very fine grit(like 1000 or even 800..polish the snot out of everything. I am sure Larry will tell ya the same as I do..clean and do not oil. I used to make more money cleaning semi auto(gas type) cause everybody cleaned 'em then oiled 'em..oil collects crud..crud makes gas guns not work like they should. Clean an 1100 and then oil it..3 drops all in the action..In cold cold..puff it with graphite no oil. 100s work in the same fashion.
