Hello, Shooters and Hunters! Welcome to the 64954_huntchat_newldp.com forums. Our goal here is to make this an informative, fun and friendly message board: emphasis on friendly. To that end, we have a few simple rules. If you feel for whatever reason that these rules are overly restrictive or that they excessively stifle your right of _expression – well…tough. You are free to go to another site that is more liberal. But we’d really rather have you stay here! That said, here are our Ten Commandments:

(1) Petey the owner, is responsible for the board. That makes him police, prosecutor, judge, jury and parole officer. There is no court of appeals. His decisions may differ from yours, but they are final. If he has a problem or a question for you, he will contact you offline. We have a chain of command here at 64954_huntchat_newldp, so you may be contacted by moderators or adminstrators first, but the final say is Petey's.

(2) Please limit topics to reloading, shooting, hunting or closely related fields. We will be quite flexible on this, (such as in the AAG forum) but some topics are absolutely forbidden: “adult” themes, * “spamming” to other sites, and any anti-hunting, anti-gun ownership manifestos. If you find certain subject matter offensive, stay out of that forum. We reserve the right to delete violations on sight.

(3) No profanity allowed. This board is visited by a wide audience of men, women and kids! We want them all to feel welcome and comfortable. Posts with foul language or overt sexual overtones will be deleted or edited with no explanation. An occasional mild word or two may be overlooked, but anything truly vulgar will not.

(4) Remember that written communication seldom conveys the entire gist of the message. Even with smilies and emoticons, messages may come across to you in a way not intended by the poster. If you find something offensive, ask for clarification and do not presume intent as you perceive it. The benefit of a doubt goes a long way in this mode of communication.

(5) No personal attacks, period. This includes disrespect, antagonism, baiting, name-calling and a host of other demeaning attributes. Such behavior, whether perceived as justified or not, is forbidden. Disagreements are common in groups of highly individual people, but we pursue the goal of communication above insult and we endeavor to keep it that way. If you feel the need to pursue such an exchange, do it off site. It will not be tolerated here. If you feel that you are being personally attacked by a moderator or treated unfairly, please notify Petey immediately.

(6) Please respond with courtesy – especially to newbies. Just because a question is basic or “old hat” to you doesn’t mean that the new guy feels that way. Remember, there are members who may think your questions are pretty basic, too! Newbies are especially welcome here, so help me make them feel that way.

(7) The discussion of illegal activities is forbidden.  Granted, this site has members from all over the globe, and what is legal in one place may not be in another. However, if an activity is known to be illegal for the majority of the members, please abide by this and conduct such conversations off site. This includes copyright violation and warez trading.

(8) Attempts to hack or harm this site, and/or stalk, harass, or harm any member of this site will be dealt with harshly. Situations that cannot be handled internally will be referred to the appropriate law enforcement agency for investigation.

(9) Courtesy, politeness, and a sense of humor pay more dividends than they cost. Feel free to use all three in copious amounts.

(10) If you like this board, tell your friends. If you hate it, please inform petey. I WILL listen and try to make it better.

*spamming -  I will tolerate advertising of other sites and services only if they are relevant to the discussion at hand. For example, if people are asking for the link to a scope site and someone posts a link to theopticzone.com then this is acceptable (especially if it's one of our paying customers). However, if a you are littering our boards with off-topic posts intended to promote your Web site, service or product,  your message WILL be deleted with no questions asked. You should receive a message as to why the post was deleted from the moderator that deleted the post.  I encourage those looking to advertise on our site. Termination of a member - If you break one of the 10 rules above you will receive a warning (strike 1). The second offense you will receive another warning (strike 2), Strike 3 and you are out! Your username, email address and IP will be banned from this board. (It is very rare that we have to ban a member, but it has been done in the past. These members usually join the board for the purpose of flaming members or spamming our boards. We will not tolerate this type of activity)
