That's good advice that Gene gave. (Especially the part about practicing in seclusion)
I also use slate/glass, box and mouth calls.
I think being able to use mouth calls in conjunction with a box or slate/glass is a plus.
I use H.S., Penn, K&H, Madd and Primos diaphragm calls. (I probably forgot a few too)
All make sweet music with lots of practice.
Good luck and practice, practice, practice. And when you think you are good at it, practice some more.
