The advantage of a drop away rest is that, after the arrow is released, it no longer has an effect on the arrow.
The whisker biscuit will make contact with the arrow shaft and fletching.
That doesn't make the biscuit a bad rest by any means; however, its more practile use is as a hunting rest. If you do a lot of shooting year round, you may find the biscuit to wear a bit, as well as wear on your fletching.
As far as drop aways being quieter, that's not necessary so. Some are quiet, some are not. They have moving parts, and anytime moving parts are involved there is an opportunity for noise. Much of the noise in a drop away can be taken care of with a little moleskin and making sure the rest is installed correctly.
If your just starting the sport and have a biscuit already, keep using it. At some point you may want to change to a drop away, but wear your biscuit out first.
