Hello sniperp1,
I admire your efforts and certainly the cause is worthy. However, you've got to consider what you're arguing with. Most groups like PETA are largely composed of women. You won't be able to get into an intelligent discussion, or push your point across. A typical response might be, "If you love animals why kill them? There's plenty of food in the supermarkets," or "You're setting a dreadfully bad example for our children." The sample responses could go on ad nausium. We could add thousands. These people won't listen to your side of the issue no matter how reasonably presented. I recall all the Viet Nam protests on campus. These kids were told by educated professors whom they wished to emulate that the war had to stop. They could easily recite the litany of what was wrong, but when you asked them what the solution was they were stumped and could only reply, "Stop the war!" I think the analogy is appropriate although we're talking humans vs animals. More power to you sniperp1, but I suspect you're beating your head against a wall. Best wishes.
