I am sure the guy from Atlanta was charged with more than rape since he kidnapped his ex-girlfriend using what the press referred to as a machine gun. He then proceeded to rape her over 3 days and had even brought a cooler along in case he got hungry.
Of course, we have to go with the innocent until proven guilty theory just in case there was mistaken identity or something, which I am not arguing was the case here. I am sure they had the right guy with DNA testing available after the rape and the fact that the girlfriend knew exactly who he was.
The issue in Atlanta coupled with the "execution" of a Chicago federal judge's husband and mother will probably have a lot of judges on edge regarding their safety.
