I have been off for awhile and stopped to check in and see if I am missing anything, seems not.

Went out to Jim Creek to take my little boy for a ride on the quad and was suprised at all the people out looking for black bears. I used to hunt(bait) this area about 10 years ago and I noticed the bears did not like to come out until mid may. I kinda laughed at the people telling me that the bears were out all ready.

The weather has been nice and the snow is melting but right now there is not alot of food for them and the bears know when winter is over and judging by the cold and little snow we got I would think it will still be a good couple of weeks till they start to mosey around.

I am looking towards Cooper Landing the middle of may, this seems to be a good time to get them down that way and the selection tends to run on the larger size over the valley bears, unless you hunt up around Trapper Creek.

Looking forward to some confirmed bear sign's on here, let us know what is moving around your hunting areas.

AlaskaBoy.
