Nice report on your new rifle. My first good gun was a 722 and I have many good memories of match shooting with my 40X's.

Today I seem to enjoy buying and shooting sporters more than anything other kind of gun activity. I feel that the Remington design while good six decades ago has not really been improved much. It was the least expensive good gun then and today there are other choices.

Back in 1957 I bought my first m70 and I have not bought another rifle for hunting from Remington since. There are nicer guns.

My last comment is that did I read that someone is going varmint hunting with 169 gr bullets? Watch your background. They might richocet.
