I see this is your first post; welcome to the Forum. The Swedish Ljungman AG-42 rifle used the direct impingment gas system to function the semi-auto action. The rifle was never universal issue in the Swedish Army, being issued a few per squad to provide additional firepower.

The date of manufacture was split into two groups of two digits with the crowned "C" (royal cypher) in the middle. In your case, it is 19 C 43. The serial number lay below the date and on the left side of the bolt carrier to facilitate assembly.

The AG-42 pattern was made in Egypt where it was chambered for the 7.92x57mm cartridge and known as the "Hakim." Hope this helps.
