I would not have a problem with the age of consent being lowered. Things are a lot different through out society, than when the current laws were put into place.
I do agree that parents need to be a lot more aware of what their kids are doing though. Most don't seem to have a clue as to what level of sexual activity their kids are involved with.
MTV, video games, movies, TV, books and just society in general encourages sexual exploration at earlier and earlier ages. Just visit your local mall, and watch the parade of "ProstiTots" as they sashay around in little groups.
