I have an older Remington 700BDL in 7mm Rem. Mag. The main advantages are that I've been shooting it long enough I have good accurate loads built up, and I know what to expect from it. Todays rifles, regardless of caliber, are a virtual nightmare, at least a crapshoot. Two pf my last three rifles have been a pain in the wazoo, having stocks and actions bedded, triggers adjusted, one returned to the factory, We just don't seem to make great rifles any longer. We've cut too many corners to keep the manufacturers prices low. I'm almost afraid to buy a new rifle today. Just one mans opinion. Best wishes.
