While I find 280 velocity data typical low (the SAAMI standard is set at 55,000 PSI, some 5,000 PSI lower than comperable calibers like 270, because it was introduced in pump and auto rifles by Remington) yours does seem high... if the chron is working. Back the chron off as suggested. I feel more comfortable at not more than 2900 with 150's in mine.
