Here is the real reason; A 22 LR is about 2 cents.
If you reload you could get it down to about 1.75 cents.
If you reloaded 1000 rounds you could save $2.50 !
I guess only the most extreme reloading experimenter would consider such an activity.
AND
There are those that are much more extreme than us.
