It sure would be nice to be able to shoot all the various calibers and brands of guns to make a decision what is best. I can only add to this post what I found from the new rifles I was able to shoot. They included Savage 300WSM, 2-Savage .223, Remmington 30-06 and Ruger .257. All three Savages shot very good out of the box. Neither the Remmy or the Ruger shot very well and 300 hundred rounds later and pounds of powder and lead and a scrapbook full of recipes, neither shoots as good as the Savages with the Ruger being the worst. Just my observations from the ones I have shot. Both the Remmy, and the Ruger had trigger work which helped alittle.--tr
