Rem 700 Stainless (any model) Got the 700 SS in a 300 RUM and the first 3 groups were under an inch with handloads. I shot a nice Bull elk and buck with it last year.
Traded that Browing A-Bolt II Composite Stalker .338 after burning the barrel up in only 8 years of shooting on a Rem 700 LSS in a 7 RUM. In only 4 loads and I got one that shoots under a quarter inch (.206" group) and turned it into my new Long Range gun. (Match Bullets)
It shoots so good I just took a deer yesterday at a tad over 750 yards with it.
Check out my post in the 500 and Beyond if you don't agree. My gun will shoot right along with those custom guns (out to a point of course) but farther than most would need
