I am a fairly proficient statistician, and I don't need anything more sophisticated than my eye and brain to tell you that there is no sharp or prolonged decrease in murders or manslaughters in Australia since the ban.
In short, the ban, and the Australian tax dollars bought nothing.
It did not work.
Maybe I'm the only one, but I have this notion that before government does something to protect us, they have the burden of demonstrating that they will produce some positive result in exchange for the cost and inconvenience.
