Late in November, the Raincoast Conservation Foundation paid $1.35 million to acquire the guide-outfitting rights to five contiguous hunting regions along the central B.C. coast.

With those "rights" are they obligated to harvest some species of animals to maintain equilibrium? Without some harvest there will be an overpopulation of some predator species, leading to disease, starvation, and a dimished population of prey species. Every specie has the capability of over reproducing itself, hunters simply harvest surplus animals that would normally die due to age, disease, lack of food, or fall prey naturally. I see Hunters as the true Consevationalists, I see this Foundation as condemning big game animals to a slow lingering death, with the net result of fewer animals to enjoy. Once again, time and history will prove the hunters perspective correct.
