Adam if you can find the 70's yugo 8mm ammo, midway has it sometimes, and some of the places that have links to gunboards.com have it from time to time as well.

Be careful of the turk ammo in your Hakim, I am not real framilier with the gas system on the fn49, but on the hakim you want to start from the closed position on the gas port, and single fire rounds and adjust the port as you go till they are ejecting just to your side.

The turk uses a lighter bullet than most 8mm loadings, which pushes velocity up, and causes the Hakim to really sling the brass, if the port was adjusted for the normal 198gr bullet.

Basically with the port fully open it causes a timing issue because of the higher velocity. If you start from closed, and fire-adjust-fire -adjust so it's just ejecting to your side, you'll be fine.



once you've done it for any particular lot# just remember or wite it down and you can switch gas port settings by your lot#'s of ammo.
