We have the Sunday no hunting law in parts of the Canadian prairie provinces. What really ticks me is being told I can't hunt on my own farm on Sunday.
If you want to see a situation that makes no sense.....here we can hunt birds on Sunday, small game is OK, hell I could hold a trap shoot on my farm and disturb all of the neighbours within 5 miles and that is OK. Somehow the odd shot from a deer hunter is more disturbing???
The Sunday no hunting laws are total BS. As with any other day of the week if a farmer doesn't want hunting on his property on Sunday he has the option to....JUST SAY NO!.
As an aside...........some of my neighbours, who profess to be very religious, are very vocal about no hunting on Sunday. Last fall I mentioned to one of them about seeing a big whitetail buck in my pasture on one Sunday during the rifle season. He asked me why the hell I didn't shoot it and I said well because it was a Sunday. His response was "I would have, who the hell would know. You coulda been shooting a coyote." This is the same guy that will stand up at a public meeting and get quite angry at the suggestion of hunting on Sunday!!??
He is not the only one. I have seen this type of hypocritical behaviour many times and in three different jurisdictions that have no hunting on Sundays for big game.
You guys in PA are not alone! Personally I get really ticked by church goers imposing their views on me as to what is an allowable activity on a Sunday. If they can go fishing after church and bash our little scaled friends on the head, why can't I shoot a deer.........especially on my own property? I bought it, I pay the taxes, who the hell are they to tell me I can't hunt there on Sunday?
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against religion.......just hypocritical behaviour and staunchly held beliefs that are not logical.
