My personal caliber for deer is the .308 Winchester cartridge loaded for the anticipated hunting conditions. The rifles carried afield are either the Weatherby Mark IV Accumark ultra-lightweight synthetic/stainless for medium-long range duty or my Browning BLR for short range brush duties or medium range work.

The recent acquisition of the Winchester Model 70 Ultralightweight (also in .308) will fit somewheres in their too at some point down the road once new glass in acquired and several visits to the benchrest!

This should get some interesting replies.
