WEST PALM BEACH -- One of the biggest alligators to be found in recent years was pulled dead from a canal behind Columbia Medical Center on Wednesday, news partner NewsChannel 5 reported.
It took trappers about two hours to pull in the 13- foot, 2-inch gator that weighed more than 1,000 pounds.
Experts say gators this big are usually found in Lake Okeechobee or farther north.
It may have been 40 years old.
