Very good post. A 1903 act of Congress established the National Board for the Promotion of (military) Rifle Practice. While some anti-gunners in Congress try repeatedly to derail the law, the shoot goes on.

Please explain why (Paragraph 2)"no one but you knows your score?" We shift one place left and shooters score the person on their left's target and presumably knows that shooter's scores. The competitor then signs the score card before targets are pasted and we shoot the next stage unless there is a challenge. Did I miss something?

All shooters on our range see the posted scores the day of our shoot and know how they did and it is repeated in the monthly newsletter to competitors. We are a friendly group and scores are not too important for old duffers who like to shoot their vintage military arms.
