Here's some hints:
Caliber: .45 Length:1.428" Weight: 524 grains. Used exclusivly by Confederate Sharpshooters. Extremely effective in the hands of accomplished marksmen. Took out a number of General Officers (US) at the Battle of Gettysburg. Used in both the eastern and western theaters. Only a very limited number were here in the US. Imported from Britain at a cost of $1,000 each. This particular example was dug by myself while metal detecting in Gen. John Bell Hood's headquarters in Nashville during the Battle of Nashville.
