What really irks me is that they will spend time on the legislative floor debating these "assault weapon" bans, but where is the evidence that AR-15's and AR-10's have been used flagrantly to commit crimes? If anything, put a tax on them so that the gang banger cannot afford them. Heck, even at their current price, I don't think a gang banger would go out there to buy an AR-15 or AR-10.

Some of my liberal friends, after seeing what happened in New Orleans, have gone out and bought handguns. In a conversation with one of them, he responded that what would he be able to do with a handgun against an M-16, and I told him that if he was that worried about facing an M-16 with a handgun, he should just go out and buy an AR-15, which is as close as he could get to an M-16. I think he had the M-16 confused with the AR-15, but I didn't ask.

Me, I think every house in the US should have a gun in it. That would make criminals think twice about breaking into it. I have mixed feelings about every person on the street carrying a gun, because you would have drunks, etc. with guns in their hands and bar fights are bad enough as they are right now.
