I've spent my fair share of time in burn wards and the information you have gotten is excellent. One other idea might be to have as many of your LE friends show up for visits and make there presence felt. I've noticed that there is a cross professional respect between emergency service personnel.
Medics, corpsmen,and life-flight all walk on water. Amen
