In the 1980's I was finding deals at yard sales when knowing what to look for. Lot's of old books and fishing equipment /lures cheap. Since then it seems poeple are more aware of what they have and what it is worth.
Here what i found this year in the spring.
A 1920's bait can that snaps to a belt. 2 dollars. Looked it up in the minnow bucket section of dad's Reels and Rod's price guide worth about 30 bucks at a lure show.
2 silver 1950's quarters in change at Stop and Go in Indianapolis.
I stopped for a soda everyday for 2 weeks afterwards wanting more.
A first edition second printing Hemmingway "For whom the bell tolls" 15 dollars allong with 30 other books. Perfect shape worth about 30 bucks.
Not a great year considering all of the junk i looked through this spring. Auctions on rain days are always a kick.
Gone are the 200 dollar sako .223's and 1 dollar new in the box river runt spook floaters of the 1980's.

I don't know but I've been told it's hard to swim with the weight of gold. On the other hand I have heard it said it's just as hard with the weight of lead.
