First this is an awful tragedy. My thoughts are with all the families and the students. It's terrible.
Second, you have to know that every anti-gun person in the country is going to jump all over this. One of the first stories I saw about it made mention of Virginia's "lax" gun laws very early in the story.
As though stronger gun laws would have prevented this. People who decide to take their hurt, anger and frustration out on other innocent people aren't concerned if they can have a gun legally or not. If the shooter couldn't have gotten a gun legally, which to my knowledge no one even knows if he had his gun legally, he would have gotten one some other way.
It makes me mad that every time a tragedy like this occurs they blame it on lax gun laws. Let's place the blame where it really belongs, on the crazy person who was firing the gun at blameless people who had done nothing to him.
