Wahnie....Jimi Hendrix WAS technique!

You could only hope to be so "bad"
Yup, horrible technique. He was a very sloppy player, just like Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. Some people fall in love with the imperfections and believe its what makes it special, to others its like nails on a chalkboard.

I wasn't tooting my own horn there. I could only dream of being as good, but either way, he wasn't a clean player. Slightly out of time, accidental notes being hit, bends out of tune, etc. Mostly stuff that would go right over the heads of the average listener.

I think you may be confusing technique with style because he definitely had his own unique style.

Anywho, this weekend is Turbid North's (local band) last show here in Alaska. They got signed and are heading down to Texas to record and do some touring with a few big bands. A lot of Pantera influence in the band. I'm sad to see the guys go. I've got a lot of fond memories watching them progress through the years playing at the Underground and tossing back a few drinks with them before the show. Great bunch of guys.

Skeeter, told ya Vai was pure class. Very tasteful and its great to watch his facial expressions when he plays.
