While it doesn't make a huge leap in technology it does allow for a little flexibility when it comes to your choice in firearms given a situation which may leave you feeling slightly undergunned where range is concerned. The ability to use more ballistically efficient bullets in guns with tubular magazines will allow for a bit longer effective range in the old lever guns. Will it be accurate enough to warrant using those guns in medium range situations given the limitations in accuracy that they represent? Will it make a big enough splash to be a long-term success? Only time will tell.
