I just hope they make an exception for rimfire ammo. Imagine how much a brick of .22s will cost if they have to start making them with all copper (or other lead-free) bullets?
The Dept. of Fish and Game asked people to start burying the gut piles, but I am not sure how many hunters complied with that request. Then they even gave out ammo and/or coupons for discounts on lead-free ammo. Sometimes, we bring trouble onto ourselves, like the slob shooters who leave trash, appliances and old cars out at every area to shoot in the BLM lands...and wonder why those areas end up closed to recreational shooting?
The scientific evidence has been inclusive about the lead posioning problem with condors and other meat-eating birds. However, the voters will tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to nature.
