Mainly cause the smaller the bore the more shot is beaten up by the bore. The 410 is really terrible. The 20 and 28 has a shot charge that is almost the same length while the 410 is way longer...the 12 being the shortest for all intents and purposes...at least according to bore size. Personally I have found the 28 patterns a LOT better than the 410...almost as good as the 20. I usually shoot the 20 ga in the 12 ga event in skeet. Well duh!! I have thought of using the 28 in the 12 ga and 20 but I shoot the 20 so much better.....well a half a point of so in my averages
Need to practice a whole lot more this year..want to be AA class in all guns by this summer!
