I had this happen inadvertently when I was welding up the bathtub on the rear bridge of a model 14 Enfield. Had a hell of a time getting it back to where the bolt went in and out okay. I had purchased a "dewar" several years ago just to see what all could be done with them to make them good. You end up with a Magnum length action capable of the 416 Rigby but it is a "bunch" of work. That P14 can really be opened up for the big ones, as can the P17. The P14 has some advantages.
