John Adams (the most famous and influential lawyers of all time IMHO) is a miniseries on HBO, also done by Tom Hanks (like Band of Brothers..which I've watched at least a dozen times too) and it looks awesome. I'm a Revolutionary war freak ...so it's right up my alley. They say it is historically accurate (which is the most important thing in my book) and most of it was filmed in Williamsburg.
Battle 360 is the recreations of the battles of USS Enterprise durin WWII. It's mostly computer generated stuff...but it has tons of WWII footage and interviews.

Another show that is dam hard to watch, but imho NEEDS to be seen by every American is Memory of the Camps..PBS Frontline. It's graphic at points but it shows the brutality of the Nazi death camps, all original footage.
