drove 16 hrs yesterday and just made it back home. Have left messages with family on west coast but no more info so far.
Really odd that there is no obit. Passed 5pm on Th per the message I got... he was a retired Navy Commander. I'd expect the usual formal Naval burial. Longtime Whidbey resident and local college professor.
I even checked the SanDiego papers and naval sources
